Tuo Yang

My name is Tuo Yang and I am a Postdoc fellow in the University of California, San Diego since 2019, after graduation from the University of Melbourne the same year with PhD degree. I am working on developing novel antimalarial chemotherapies as I found malaria parasite resistance to the first-line antimalarial drug, artemisinin, is a serious problem. While in my PhD, I earned the 2019 Sawyer Medal award due to the contribution to study activation of artemisinin and artemisinin resistance mechanisms. In my free time, I enjoy eating tacos at Mexican restaurants in California and walking on the beach.
